On 06 Jan 2024, The Gala 417 hosted VDRF's 1st annual Sunk Ship Gala.
VDRF supporters donned their best nautical chic attire and enjoyed complimentary beverages and food, live local music from Uncle Jack, entertainment from Professional Illusionist Tony Jones, a premium signature drink by Chesapeake Bay Distillery, and an event video produced by Photo Genesis Group.

On 26 Feb 2022, Dockside Restaurant hosted VDRF's inaugural fundraiser the Sunk Ship Sendoff I. This event springboarded VDRF's ability to remove 16x ADVs in its first 12-months as an environmental nonprofit.
